So, I suck at vlogging

Since my last post, life hasn’t exactly been quiet. There has been quite a bit happening.
Training for a marathon later this year. Working full time. And a few random little adventures thrown in the mix.
Elle and I boarded on a three night cruise on the Carnival Adventure with a few of my work friends. Equal parts ocean air, questionable buffet decisions, and that weird cruise thing where time stops existing. It’s 10am and you are on deck holding a cocktail. You’ve walked 4km but technically haven’t gone anywhere. Cruising does something to your brain. I bloody love it.
Did I film much of it? Nope. Nada. Zilch.
OK, maybe a few clips from busting a move in the night club, a bit of ocean maybe but nothing YouTube worthy.
The day after the cruise we swapped deck chairs for camp chairs. We packed up the Tank and headed out for a two night camp at Jila Campgrounds on the outskirts of sydney. Completely different energy. No all you can eat buffet. Dinner was cooked over hot coals. The sound of the ocean swapped out for kookaburras, cockatoos and the sound of a crackling fire.
As for filming - I have some random fragments. No proper intro. No outro. No structured storyline. No carefully narrated gear breakdown. Just random bits of us and a really disorganised campsite set up.
All of this brings me to the realisation that clearly I love getting out and adventuring, or switching off by a camp fire, because I am so easily able to allow myself to be present in those moments. Everything else falls away. I am there, I am with who I am with, doing what I am doing. And its bliss.
I forget to film because I’m busy being in that moment. Talking. Laughing. Swimming. Sitting. Staring at nothing. And maybe that’s not the worst thing in the world.
I really have so much doubt right now that YouTube and my 'content' will ever be anything great. But, my adventures are great, and right now, that's really all that matters.
I’ll probably cut together a couple of shorts from what I’ve got. Little snapshots rather than polished travel documentaries. And maybe that’s more true to what this actually is. A reminder to just go. Even if it’s messy. Even if it’s imperfect. Even if you forget to press record (more than) half the time.
Still roaming.
Still learning.
Still very bad at being a vlogger.
And honestly? I’m kind of ok with that.
